Sheffield Tram Ale Trale

Sheffield is a bit grim, but all the pubs on this ale trale are really nice and the beer range and quality was exceptional.

The trams are literally every 5 minutes, so time isn't important

PubBeerImpressionHow to Get There.
New Barrack TavernGood varietyLarge spacious pub on the main road. It can be busy if Sheffield Wednesday are playing at home. From the city centre, get the Hillsbrough tram up to Bamforth Street. Head away from the Masons Arms and take your first right. Walk down the hill and turn left at the main road (Penistone Road). The pub is just there on your left.
Hillsbrough HotelGood varietyAnother really nice pub. Now home of of the Crown Brewery. This pub is only open from Thursday to Sunday after 4.30pm.Go back up to the tram stop and get the tram back towards the city centre. Get off after one stop Langsett Road/Primrose View Walk a little further down the hill and it's on your left.
Gardeners ArmsGood varietyI really liked this pub. What I loved about nearly all the pubs on this aletrale was that the outside and inside of the pubs don't reflect each other, and this was most noticeable at this pub. It's directly on a busy road, with all the buildings looking a bit worse for wear. The inside is really nice and the beer garden's on the river. Great!Get the tram to Infirmary Road and walk down the hill and take your first left. Walk straight down the hill, straight over the main road, then the river and take your first left after the river. The pub's just round the corner on your left.
Cask and CutlerGood varietyLovely pub on a very busy junction. Home of the Port Mahon breweryGet the tram to Shalesmoor Walk back on yourself and round the corner to your left. The pub's there on your left.
Kelham Island TavernGood varietyThis pub is a little oasis in Sheffield's red light district. Beautiful flowers in the beer garden, and out the front, and a clean, spacious and friendly pub.Go straight over the main road and head up Green Lane. A five minute walk later and you'll see the pub on a road just off to your right.
Fat CatGood varietyThe home of the award winning Kelham Island Brewery and a really nice pub to boot.Walk right out of the Kelham Island Tavern, turn right and the pub's on the other side of the road.
RiversideGood varietyA modern pub that looks more like a European bar than a pub. The beer is good, and it's nice to sit by the river after a hard day's drinking.Walk left out of the Fat Cat and head up the road. Turn left at the end, cross the river and you'll see the Riverside's beer garden.
