The Old StepsLandlord and Black SheepSlightly odd, but very cool pub near Leeds International Swimming Pool. Worth a visit if you've never been before. Not open Saturday afternoon. It does free tapas every Wednesday at 5.30.From the Fox and Newt, walk towards town, pass a turning on your right and continue towards town, taking the path through the flats to your right, and down to the pedestrian bridge to cross over the Inner Ring Road. Go over the bridge and then walk round the International Pool until you get to York Place. The Old Steps is at this end of York Place on your right.
Scarbrough HotelTetleys and 5 changing guest beersAn excellent city centre pub near Leeds station, which always has good quality, very interesting beers. The food is OK too, and it's usually a nice place to be, apart from weekend nights when it tends to be really packed.From the Old Steps, come out of the pub and head right down York Place until you meet the main road. Cross over, then head right. Turn left onto Wellington Street then cross over. Keep walking, past the Queens Hotel and turn right just after the station. Scarbrough Hotel is on your left.

The pub itself is basic, with wooden floors and open coal fires in Winter, and a beer yard out the back in Summer.Turn left out of the Scarbrough Hotel and follow the road round to the left. Turn right onto Boar Lane and keep walking towards the Corn Exchange. Walk round the left hand side of the Corn Exchange and turn right onto Kirkgate to find the Duck and Drake about 30 yards down Kirkgate
The PalaceTetley's, Bateman's Dark Mild, Burton Ale and up to 6 guest beersBright, clean pub on the edge of the town centre. Nice outside area, and plenty of seating space inside.Come out of the Duck and Drake and head left underneath the railway bridge. Walk towards the Parish Church, crossing the road to walk alongside it. Head past the church and the Palace is on your right.
The WrensBlack Sheep, Landlord, Jennings Cumberland Ale, Tetley's MildA really excellent city centre pub. Not too packed, even on weekend nights, quality beer, relaxing surroundings, clean, bright and friendly.Walk back towards the Duck and Drake, but turn right through the park to go under the railway bridge. Walk straight through the bus station and turn left. Keep walking til you reach the main road (Vicar Lane) and go straight ahead through the Victoria quarter. Turn right out of the Victoria quarter and keep going until you reach the Wrens. It's on your left near the Grand Theatre

Bands play upstairs and the jukebox is good.Come out of the Wrens using the Merrion Street entrance and walk up Merrion Street, past the Merrion Centre and turn right. Head towards the University, walking past Leeds Metropolitan University. Cross the bridge and you'll find the Fenton on your left.
Fox and NewtTetley's, Landlord and a guestQuiet pub near Park Lane CollegeWalk back towards Leeds, but take the first turning right, before the bridge. Walk down the side of the Inner Ring Road, and turn left over a small bridge. Keep walking down this road towards the hospital. Cross over a mini roundabout, walk past Millennium Square and take the first right towards Great George Street. Keep walking, passing the George on your left and head over a bridge, heading towards Joseph's Well. Keep going passing the turning for Joseph's Well and follow the road round to the left. Cross over to come to the entrance to Park Lane College. Walk round the college to the left and turn right to find a zebra crossing. Cross over and keep heading in the same direction, past a pizza shop to find the Fox and Newt on your left.
